I also put lit garland around the handrail on the stairs. And may I just say—I hate putting up garland. Hate it. End result is nice, but it’s like wrestling an animal to get that stuff wound properly.
Pretty…..

- Accept that some days you’re the pigeon, and some days you’re the statue.
- Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
- Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
- Drive carefully. It’s not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
- Eat a live toad in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.

“The best things…..happen while you’re dancing….things that you would not do at home come naturally on the floor….
For dancing…..soon becomes romancing…when you hold a girl in your arms that you’ve never held before…
Even guys with two left feet, come out alright if the girl is sweet. And if by chance your cheeks should meet while dancing, proving that the best things happen while you dance.”
White Christmas is my favorite movie to watch around the holiday season, and today I can’t seem to get this song out of my head.
I can’t wait to keep up tradition and watch this!

My parents already have the tree up (just in time for Brandon and I to arrive). After nearly a decade of buying 12-foot Christmas trees, sawing them down ourselves and trucking it home, they finally gave in and bought a 12-foot fake one (pre-lit).
I’m also proud of my foray into casual wear with this puff vest from Target for $15. It’s reversible (two vests in one?) with red lumberjack plaid on the inside.
And…the pajama bottoms I’m wearing are my father’s. Thanksgiving is not the day for aesthetics— I’m enjoying the elastic waist band too much to suffer into a pair of skinny jeans.
Next job….decorations on the tree!!!
First: to wonderful best friends (Tanya, Ellie) and family (Mother, Father, Jera); to all the special friendships I have made through Tumblr; to everyone that takes a bit of time to read what I have to say.
To my husband, who has made my life worthwhile and beautiful.
To my dogs, who put a smile on my face.
To having a job, a home, food on the table.
To never taking things for granted and remembering to give thanks everyday instead of once a year over turkey and mashed potatoes.
Cheers and love you all.

I know that I have posted this picture before. However, after reading Jeralyn’s blog about puppies, I just had to post a picture of Jera’s “baby” again! Madison is missing her morning routine…sleep, wait for Jera to have her cereal, follow Jera upstairs, get on Jera’s bed and sleep, then she eats a treat before Jera leaves for school. Oh to be together again! xo
